«Energy» (Voronezh) - «Rossianka» (Moscow region) 0:1 (0:0)

The game between “Nadezda” and “Lada” started two hours earlier and at 6 pm everyone knew that “Lada” already won the Russian championship. So the game in Voronezh was only for runner up’s place. Any medals for “Rossianka” were the success. There were a lot of V.I.P. guests with them from Moscow and a lot of police in the stadium. FC Energy who usually have the maximum purposes got some problems before the last game. Sabrina Rastetter, Ekaterina Stepanenko, Irina Grigorieva, Liubov Bukashkina, Daria Apanashchenko couldn’t play on that day.
The guests started very actively and had some good goal chances. But Ukrainian International Irina Zvarich who was the goalkeeper of the hosts  showed great  skills. She parried the kicks from  Letyushova, Diachkova, Shmatchkova. At the end of the 1^st half Nadezda Bosikova missed a chance to score but was not precise. The question about the winner was  solved after the break. The referee from Samara – Marina Mamaeva – just invented the free kick on the very boundary of the goalkeeper’s square. The strong shot from Olga Letyushova was exactly to the left corner of the guests – Vera Strukova tried to head the ball out but only disturbed to Irina Zvarich who guessed the kick’s trajectory. Then all the “Rossianka”’s girls played in defense mostly and FC Energy organized such a final storm.  But it was unlucky. So FC Energy who continues the participation in UEFA Women’s Cup won only the bronze medals of the Russian Championship for the first time in history which is very unexpected.
