The first games of the final round showed that the struggle
for the first place will be very hard. Moscow team
“Rossiyanka” upset “Lada” in out game in Toliatti. The game in
Voronezh was very persistent and even dramatic. Any team
could win but Energy team had more chances. But sometimes only
one episode could make the result. Natalia Zinchenko didn’t
use her chance to score with penalty kick. It was a fate.
The
game began with attacks from both sides. At the 5th
minut Elena Tzurkny checked the bar with the strong shot. The
answer from FC Energy was soon: Emily Burt overplayed the
defender, but the goal was prevented by Marina Burakova. Then
Vera Stroukova tried to score with the point of free kick. And
then Vera saved her team from the 100% guests’s shot. At 37th
minute active Elena Tzurkanu again kicked to the bar of the
gates, and at the end the head shot of Irina Grigorieva was
not precise.
In the second half the host team got the real advantage. At the 47th
minute Nadejda Bosikova run into the gates square and the
defender made a mistake. Penalty!
The usual penalty striker Natalia Zinchenko tried to get the
right corner but goalkeeper of the guests Makarenkova made a
great save. The Voronezh players intensified the attacks and
tried not to panic. And very soon Natalia Zinchenko was 4
metres from empty gates but was not precise. No one knew what
was happened. Natalia felt very upset and was going to left
the pitch but Vera Stroukova asked her to stay and play. And
some minutes later Natalia Zhdanova got the second caution and
left the pitch. The guests tried to realize their unexpected
advantage. But FC Energy team didn’t stay near own gates. As a
